About Freedom Philanthropies

Restoring freedom and dignity,
one community at a time

Freedom Philanthropies runs five programs across eight countries in crisis: Freedom Bakeries, Freedom Wells, Freedom Pharmacies, Freedom Farms, and Freedom to Learn. We deliver bread, water, healthcare, and education through trusted local partners, with every gift tax-deductible in the U.S.

Small, recurring donations sustain entire communities. Every gift moves through the same partner network and reaches families the same day.

Our Mission

To restore freedom and dignity by relieving hardship and strengthening communities through access to essential resources delivered efficiently and sustainably.

Our Vision

A world where every individual has access to the basic necessities of life and the opportunity to build a sustainable future.

Our Story

From one bakery to five programs.

Freedom Philanthropies started as Freedom Bakeries, a single program delivering daily bread to families who'd lost everything else. As that network grew, the same partners on the ground asked for help with water, with medicine, with keeping their children in school. We listened, and the organization grew with them.

Today we operate Freedom Bakeries, Freedom Wells, Freedom Pharmacies, Freedom Farms, and Freedom to Learn across eight countries in crisis. The name changed to reflect the work; the people, the partners, and the commitment to dignity-first delivery did not.

Formerly known as Freedom Bakeries.

Common Questions

How do I know Freedom Philanthropies is legitimate?
We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 85-4080008). Donations are tax-deductible in the U.S. Every month we publish people-served counts and field photos across our email newsletter and social channels, and we welcome donors to follow the work in detail.
Where did Freedom Bakeries start?
Freedom Bakeries began in Brooklyn, New York as a small daily-bread initiative. After eight years of distribution and community trust, the bakeries grew into the flagship of a broader 501(c)(3), Freedom Philanthropies, which also houses Freedom Wells, Freedom Pharmacies, Freedom Farms, and Freedom to Learn.
Why are there several Freedom names?
Freedom Philanthropies Inc. is the registered nonprofit. Freedom Bakeries, Freedom Wells, Freedom Pharmacies, Freedom Farms, and Freedom to Learn are program initiatives under that same 501(c)(3), led by the same team, with separate tracking for each focus area but a unified mission.
How do you operate on the ground?
We partner with trusted local teams in every country we serve. Local hiring keeps overhead low, builds the local economy, and ensures aid reaches the families who know their communities best.
Which countries does Freedom Philanthropies serve?
Active programs today run in eight countries: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Egypt, Lebanon, Palestine, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen. We have also operated in Algeria, Liberia, Pakistan, and Peru as needs and circumstances have shifted over the years.
How is funding for Palestine deployed?
Gaza was our very first initiative when Freedom Bakeries was founded. For five years we have delivered water, medical supplies, and food aid into Gaza when possible, and now also serve Palestinian families displaced into neighboring countries.
